So Cal Crush F.C. Joins United Women's Soccer

Los Angeles-based SCCFC becomes the newest member of the UWS West

MONTROSE, CA - United Women's Soccer (UWS) is excited to announce that So Cal Crush F.C. will be competing in the West Conference for the Summer 2017 season. So Cal Crush F.C. is a newly formed franchise in the Southern California soccer market and will be playing at the highest league level of any women’s team in Los Angeles. SCCFC will provide elite soccer development & training to the female players in the region.

“We are excited to have the So Cal Crush join UWS,” said League Director Joe Ferrara, Jr. “The amount of talent in the Southern California area is undeniable and So Cal Crush F.C. has a very dynamic ownership group. This creates a natural rivalry with our defending champions Santa Clarita.”

“I am very proud and excited to announce today the So Cal Crush F.C. will be joining the United Women's Soccer league in 2017,” said So Cal Crush F.C. General Manager Heidi Strauss. “Athletes often finish a collegiate career and are left asking what do I do now? I am glad So Cal Crush will be able to provide a women’s team that fans can support and these athletes will have an opportunity to continue their soccer career. The owners are committed to inspiring a whole new generation of young ladies to aspire to play at higher levels.”

So Cal Crush F.C. will be coached by Reggie Rivas. Rivas is the Founder and Director of Operations for Crescenta Valley Soccer Club and is the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Pasadena City College.

“I am proud to provide an opportunity for our future, current and post college soccer players the ability to continue to develop their skills,” said Rivas. “I feel that this program will give hope and inspiration to the next generation of girls wanting to play in college and professional soccer.”

So Cal Crush F.C. ownership is finishing up the hiring process of coaching and support staff. The ownership group of Neal Bird, Reggie Rivas and The Archer Travel Group are excited to announce the signing of their first set of players. Forward Ryan Casey (Carnegie Mellon), forward Jamie Bell (LMU, FC Energia - Russia), forward Kara Lankey (Pacific University), midfielder Rachel Bird (San Diego State Club) and midfielder Jordan Miller (Cal. Lutheran University).
