Detroit, New England & So Cal Crush lead second edition of the weekly awards

METUCHEN, NJ - There was action and excitement in all three conferences of United Women’s Soccer (UWS) this past weekend with upsets, tense draws and close wins highlighting the Week II slate. In the East, the New England Mutiny have taken the early lead in the conference race while the other teams have begun to lineup behind them. In the Midwest, Detroit Sun FC were victorious in an early season showdown with Grand Rapids FC. And in the West opener, newcomers So Cal Crush FC stunned conference powerhouse Real Salt Lake Women on the road.

When it comes to the second edition of the UWS Team of the Week for the Summer 2017 season, the performances of the players from those three victorious sides are highlighted. But there were plenty of other notable performances in UWS action, as drama was the word of the weekend in all three conferences around the country. And the scoring races (conference & league) have begun to pick up steam as well.
