SYLVANIA, OH - In the second match of a two-game weekend, Detroit Sun FC (4-1-3 Midwest) got their offense back on track and returned to winning ways with an emphatic 5-2 win over Toledo Villa FC (2-3-1 Midwest) on the road. After going scoreless in their last two matches, Detroit was powered by five different goal scorers in the victory while the goalkeeping combination of Caitlyn & Madison Clem made nine total saves in net for the visitors on Sunday night. Toledo forward Skylar Fleak notched her team-leading fifth & sixth goals of the season and keeper Sam Tiongson made six saves in the loss for the hosts.

Detroit got on the scoreboard in the 16th minute when team captain Dani Evans played in forward Annie Walker behind the Toledo back line where she dribbled to the end line and found midfielder Ali Amante for a tap in goal. The Sun doubled their lead in the 36th minute when defender Justine Lynn played a long ball that ricocheted off of a Villa defender right into the path of forward Evdokia Popadinova, who finished her 1v1 for the 2-0 score. Just at the stroke of halftime, Amante found Walker in space and she finished high to the far post to make it a 3-0 game.
