FSA Purchases Expansion Franchise In UWS East

Team to be operated by long-time broadcasters JP Dellacamera & Shep Messing

FARMINGTON, CT - Farmington Sports Arena (FSA) based in Farmington, Connecticut has announced the purchase of an expansion team in United Women's Soccer (UWS) that will begin play for the upcoming 2018 season. Under FSA ownership, the team will be operated by long time soccer commentators JP Dellacamera and Shep Messing, who will serve as Managing Directors.

Future announcements will include a new team name and colors, official logo, naming of a coach, player signings and tryout information.

The team will play a 10-game league schedule with primary home games and training sessions at FSA.  Additional friendlies may also take place this coming summer. The new Connecticut team will play in the East Conference alongside clubs from Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

About Dellacamera and Messing: JP Dellacamera is a soccer commentator currently working for Fox Sports and the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer. He has called play by play action of eight consecutive Men's World Cups on TV or radio, and 5 Women's World Cups on network TV. In addition, he has been involved in 3 Olympic Tournaments on NBC. With Fox, he has been a part of UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Gold Cup and Copa America Centenario coverage.

Shep Messing, a former professional goalkeeper turned broadcaster, is currently working with Madison Square Garden TV as the main analyst on New York Red Bulls (MLS) soccer. He is a former USA Olympic and National Team goalkeeper. Messing was also a championship goalkeeper on Pele's great New York Cosmos team, and finished his career playing indoor soccer in the Major Indoor Soccer League. As an indoor keeper he won four titles with the NY Arrows.
