MAY 11 | OLD vs. NEW… Two of the nation’s oldest women’s soccer franchises face off against two of the league’s newer teams on the opening weekend in the East. On Saturday, May 11, the Connecticut Fusion begin its second season when it travels to Hofstra University to take on the Long Island Rough Riders, which will open its 25th campaign. Later that evening the New England Mutiny will start its 20th season when they drive across I-90 to Foley stadium to take on the Worcester Smiles, who will also play its second season in United Women’s Soccer.

MAY 19 | SYRACUSE DA vs. ROCHESTER LANCERS… The East Conference’s newest franchise, Syracuse DA, will begin play in UWS when it travels to Aquinas Institute to play the Rochester Lancers in a natural rivalry between opponents just 85 miles apart.

JUNE 1 | LANCASTER INFERNO vs. NEW JERSEY COPA… Two of the league’s charter members take the pitch as last season’s East champion Lancaster Inferno battle 2016 East champion New Jersey Copa.

WORCESTER IS ALL SMILES… The Worcester Smiles logo has a very familiar look as it pays tribute to the famous smiley face that has become a part of popular culture worldwide. The classic iconic design was created by Harvey Ball- a native of Worcester, MA where the Smiles call home.

LUSITANO STADIUM… The New England Mutiny will have a new home for its 20thanniversary season as it will play its home games at Lusitano Stadium in Ludlow, MA. The stadium was constructed in 1922 and it was the first soccer-specific stadium in the New England region. Known for its festive atmosphere and Portuguese-inspired concessions, the venue is also home to the Western Mass Pioneers of USL-2.
