UWS Preview: Week III
Nine UWS matches to watch on MyCujoo this weekend
METUCHEN, NJ - The third week of the season kicked off this past Wednesday with two UWS matches. The mid-week matches resulted in LI Rough Riders' 2-0 victory over NJ Copa FC & Detroit Sun FC's 4-1 victory over Michigan Legends FC. The action will continue this Friday night in the Midwest & East Conferences. Saturday games will be played in all four conferences, and Sunday's match will feature the league's two Canadian clubs, Calgary Foothills WFC & Queen City United. AFC Ann Arbor (1-1-0) v. Lansing United (2-0-0) - UWS Midwest
The two Michigan sides have both played the same opponents in two weeks, and now face each other. Ann Arbor lost their opening match to Detroit, but had a decisive victory over Grand Rapids. Lansing had one-goal victories over both Detroit and Grand Rapids.

Grand Rapids FC (0-2-0) v. Indiana Union (1-0-0) - UWS Midwest
Grand Rapids seeks their first win in their first home match of 2019. Indiana looks to keep the good times rolling after an opening 5-0 win, while also climbing the Midwest standings after their second game last weekend was postponed due to inclement weather.

Connecticut Fusion (2-0-0) v. Rochester Lancers (0-0-1) - UWS East
In the only East conference matchup of the evening, CT Fusion looks to take sole possession of first atop the East standings. Doing so means playing host to the Lancers who drew in their first match.

Rochester continues their road trip bright and early on Saturday in Massachusetts. Worcester is looking for their first win, 3 points, and a good showing at home.

Michigan Legends (0-2-0) v. AFC Ann Arbor (1-0-0) - UWS Midwest
In their second match of the weekend, the Mighty Oak travels to the Legends. The Legends will be hoping to capture three points at home, while AFCAA will be hoping for a second win in two days, and a move up the Midwest standings.

Lancaster Inferno (0-1-0) v. Syracuse Development Academy (0-0-1) - UWS East
The 2018 national runner-ups look to leapfrog some other East Conference teams when they host SDA. Syracuse will look to build upon their opening draw and push for a higher place in the East.

Houston Aces (1-0-0) v. FC Austin Elite (0-0-0) - UWS Southwest
Everything is Aces for the defending national champions, Houston, who opened the 2019 season with eight goals in Week 2. Austin will try their hand against Houston in their first game of the season, hoping the cards will be in their favor Saturday night.

The Pride will be seeking to keep the Heat on ice when they play host at the Lion’s den in their first match of the 2019 season. Santa Clarita is hoping to catch fire after a opening loss on the road against LA Galaxy.

Newcomer Queen City United takes on Calgary in their inaugural match in UWS as they become the league’s second Canadian team.. Calgary won the West Conference in 2018 and will be looking to repeat.
