METUCHEN, NJ - The calendar has turned to June and the pace of games in United Women's Soccer (UWS) has shifted up into second gear. A flurry of outstanding performances on both sides of the ball muddied the decision process for Player of the Week honors. In the end, winning (as always) was paramount and Riley Tanner's first-half hat trick in the first win of the season for defending Midwest champion Grand Rapids FC gave her the nod for Offensive Player of the Week honors. Kelly O'Brien is the defending UWS East Defensive Player of the Year for the Lancaster Inferno and came up with a big stop to save a win for her side. For her efforts, the former Lafayette College standout has been honored as the Defensive Player of the Week.
