Howarth keeps lighting the lamp; Henderson stands tall despite loss

METUCHEN, NJ - Teams are maneuvering for postseason consideration in all four conferences of United Women's Soccer (UWS) and this week's edition of the Team of the Week mirrors that suspense and drama. Stay tuned as UWS will release their playoff format for the 2019 campaign in the coming days. Players on playoff-bound teams rose up to the challenge but there were also a few performances from sides looking to finish their season with their heads held high. A familiar name once again led her team to victory, as Kate Howarth of the first-place New England Mutiny kept up her assault on the league scoring charts with a 10-point performance over the space of two wins. On the other end of the spectrum, Worcester Smiles goalkeeper Brittany Henderson single-handedly kept her winless side in contention for their first points of the season but fell just short in stoppage time.

For their efforts, Kate Howarth and Brittany Henderson have respectively been named the Offensive & Defensive Players of the Week! For the full list of our weekly honors, see below:
