DI All-America: Ten UWS Alumnae Honored

Women's College Cup kicks off today at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, CA

METUCHEN, NJ - The 2019 Division I Women's College Cup kicks off this afternoon at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, CA with two semifinal matches: the University of North Carolina takes on Washington State University at 4 PM (PDT) while Stanford University battles UCLA at 6:30 PM. United Women's Soccer (UWS) would like to wish all four teams the best of luck in their dream to capture the national championship.

In the lead-up to the College Cup, United Soccer Coaches (USC) announced the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's All-America Teams on Thursday evening. This year's All-Americans will be acknowledged at the USC All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Baltimore Convention Center in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention. A total of fifty-one players receive All-America recognition this year.

Ten UWS alumnae were honored for their contributions during this past season, highlighted by three-time selections Catarina Macario (Stanford - LA Galaxy OC) and Deyna Castellanos (Florida State University - Santa Clarita Blue Heat). For the full list, see below. USC and the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) also announced on Thursday the women's finalists for the 2019 Hermann Trophy: Macario, UCLA's Jessie Fleming and North Carolina's Emily Fox. Macario was the 2018 Hermann Trophy winner and was named the 2019 Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year.
