MACARIO BACK-TO-BACK MAC HERMANN RECIPIENT... Stanford University midfielder Catarina Macario was presented with her second consecutive Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy on Friday at the organization's annual banquet. Macario becomes the fifth women's player to repeat as winner of the award and the first repeat winner since Morgan Brian (2013 & 2014). The MAC Hermann Trophy honors the United Soccer Coaches (USC) National Players of the Year in NCAA Division I men's and women's soccer based on voting conducted by NCAA Division I coaches. The Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year led the nation and set Stanford records in goals (32), assists (23) and points (87). The three-time All-American also led the Cardinal to their third national championship. And that was her second national championship this year. The 2019 United Women's Soccer (UWS) Championship MVP helped lead LA Galaxy OC to the league title this past summer.

CASTELLANOS SETS SAIL FOR SPAIN... With the 2020 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Draft on the horizon, the soccer world was wondering where former Florida State University star Deyna Castellanos was going to play her professional ball. That question has been answered as the 2017 UWS Player of the Year has joined Atlético Madrid of La Liga - the top flight in Spain - until 2022. Castellanos shot to fame in 2017 when after her stellar season for the Santa Clarita Blue Heat, she was a finalist for the FIFA Best Award and Puskas Award. The Venezuelan international was a star on the pitch for the FSU Seminoles, who won the College Cup in 2018. Deyna was named to the All-ACC First Team in three seasons, and was named ACC Offensive Player of the Year in 2019. Atlético Madrid has finished first in its league in each of the past three seasons.

Through eight matches of the 2019-2020 season, Napoli stands at the top of the table with 20 points and a 6-0-2 record. In her lone season with the Fusion, the former German youth international started in eight matches during the regular season (two goals, two assists). Beil garnered Second Team All-UWS and First Team All-UWS East Conference accolades. She recently wrapped up her collegiate career with the University of Connecticut, where she started 14 games this past fall. In two seasons for the Huskies, she appeared in 32 matches (seven goals, seven assists). Beil spent her first two seasons of college at the University of Maine and was part of the Germany roster at the 2012 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup.
