Thiffault Joins UWS Advisory Board

Respected executive will help guide league to new level

METUCHEN, NJ - United Women's Soccer (UWS) has announced that Jef Thiffault has joined the UWS Advisory Board. The respected executive with over two decades of experience has worked closely with international clubs and domestic professional teams. Thiffault has previously held roles in Major League Soccer (MLS) headquarters and as Managing Director of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). He is currently the owner of New Jersey-based Contigo Sports Management and a co-owner of Savannah Clovers FC.

The UWS Advisory Board was created to guide development and expand the reach of UWS, as the league contributes to the growth of women's soccer. The goal is to define and create solutions that help to create the optimal player, team and organization development environment for our female players. The board will be composed of experienced technical and thought leaders that have proven knowledge, experience and qualifications. UWSAB Members will be identified and are asked to serve a 2-3 year term.

"We are excited to welcome Jef to our newly created UWS Advisory Board as we prepare to announce the great additions to our 2020 season," said UWS Chief Operation Officer Roberto Aguas. "This year, one of the value adds for our members is the formation of an advisory board composed from experienced luminaries of our sport.

"I have known and worked closely with Jef for many years, his diverse experience having worked with some of the top clubs around the world and most recently in leading NPSL through continued growth will be invaluable to us. Jef will work closely with the executive team in the expansion of our league while focusing on the quality of the organizations we welcome into our platform."

The advisory board will lend their expertise to help the Executive Team implement the strategic initiatives specifically focused on growing the league.

"United Women's Soccer has seen impactful growth since its inception in 2015, with the best interests of the Women's game at the forefront, and I am very excited to help contribute to its goals," said Thiffault. "UWS serves as an important platform for the developmental of the professional game. I look forward to bringing my experience to this role by helping our existing teams while focusing on our strategic vision and the expansion of the league's national footprint."
