METUCHEN, NJ - It has been a busy month for Calgary Foothills Women's FC as a number of their United Women's Soccer (UWS) alumnae have been making news for both club and country. Midfielder Sarah Kinzner is the latest UWS star to sign professionally overseas, as the former University of Colorado standout and Canadian youth international joined FTC Női Labdarúgás of the Női Nemzeti Bajnokság - the top flight in Hungary - for the remainder of the 2020 season.

Ferencvarosi TC has won three of the last five Női NB I championships and lost the Group F title in the UEFA Women's Champions League by goal differential to ZFK Spartak. The 2017 All-UWS West Conference selection will be competing against two-time UWS East Goalkeeper of the Year Kelly O'Brien (Lancaster Inferno), who signed for Diósgyőri VTK last fall. Kinzner is not the only UWS alum who recently inked a pro contract, as former Indiana Union and University of Missouri goalkeeper Kelsey Dossey has joined RCD Espanyol de Barcelona Femení of La Liga in Spain.

A trio of Calgary stars were called up to the U-20 Canadian National Team in preparation for the upcoming Concacaf Women's Under-20 Championship. 2019 All-UWS selection Tanya Boychuk, midfielder Mya Jones and forward Caleigh Boeckx were tabbed by Head Coach Rhian Wilkinson to help capture one of only two remaining spots for Concacaf. Canada will play group matches against El Salvador, Guatemala and Jamaica after which it will need to advance to the semifinals to qualify for the World Cup. LA Galaxy OC midfielder Jenna Nighswonger was called up to the U.S. U-20 side for the same tournament.

Boychuk and Jones had stellar seasons for the University of Memphis this past fall. Tanya earned Second Team All-American Athletic Conference honors while Mya was the AAC Rookie of the Year and a First Team All-Conference selection. Their former teammate - goalkeeper Stephanie Labbe - was the winner of the Golden Glove Award at the 2020 Concacaf Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship. The 2018 All-UWS West selection registered three clean sheets in four matches for Canada, who qualified for the Olympic Games for the fourth consecutive time.

Speaking of the 2020 Concacaf Olympic qualifiers, three UWS East alumnae took part for their home countries during the tournament. The sister duo of Allyson & Chantelle Swaby (New England Mutiny) started in all three group matches for Jamaica while Phoenetia Browne (New Jersey Copa FC) captained the Saint Kitts and Nevis side. The "Reggae Girlz" blanked SKN - who were the Cinderella story of the tournament - by a 7-0 score during group play. Allyson currently plays for A.S. Roma of Serie A in Italy while Chantelle was selected by Sky Blue F.C. in last month's National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Draft. Browne recently signed a contract with Finnish club Aland United after a spell in Romania with FCU Olimpia Cluj.
