CT Rush joins New England Conference

Metuchen, NJ – Expansion has come to the New England Conference of UWS League Two (UWS2). Connecticut Rush, who fields a team in the first division of UWS will be adding a second team to compete in UWS2 this upcoming season.

“I am extremely excited to embark on our 3rd season in the UWS, the most competitive Pro-Am league in the country,” said Connecticut Rush GM Edward Greene. “The league’s goals align perfectly with our goals and aspirations to provide the best female soccer players with an environment to play at the highest levels.  The UWS is a clear pathway for women who aspire to be professional players as evidenced in the #1 pick for the NWSL as well as 5 of the top 10 picks overall.  We have the best collegiate players from CT and New England playing for our club in the best league available to them. I believe that our decision to commit a second team to the UWS 2 League will be instrumental in signaling to women throughout the region that we are one of the premier destinations for the best players to showcase their talents.  I am incredibly proud of the coaching staff we have assembled and I cannot wait to get out on the field this Summer.”

Connecticut Rush is associated with Rush Soccer – an international sports organization focused on the development of soccer players. Connecticut Rush (East) launched its programming in 2012 with a skills clinic in Guilford, CT. Since that time, the program has experienced exponential growth in the surrounding communities and now boasts a comprehensive youth program with eight branches and 22 teams based out of North Branford, CT. Connecticut Rush offers state level premier teams through their network and an elite program that competes at the regional/national level.

The UWS League Two team will be led by Head Coach Julia Carr. Coach Carr, a member of the First Team roster, also coaches youth teams for CT Rush.

“I am so excited about this opportunity,” stated Head Coach Julia Carr. “I plan to create a professional environment where the players will gain the experience to play and compete at a higher level.”

Connecticut Rush’s home venue is the East Haven HS (35 Wheelbarrow Lane, East Haven, CT, 06513). For more information on CT Rush, visit their official website and follow them on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.
