United Women’s Soccer expands to Ohio

Metuchen, NJ – United Women’s Soccer is pleased to announce the addition of Ohio-based club, Cincinnati Sirens. The women’s team is set to begin play in the UWS Midwest Division this upcoming season. Stay tuned for the 2023 game schedule to be released soon.

“The Cincinnati Sirens have been providing high quality women’s soccer in the Ohio community for several years,” said League Commissioner Joe Ferrara. “We are excited to have them as part of United Women’s Soccer and look forward to working with them on future initiatives involving the advancement of the women’s game.”

Based in Fairfield, Ohio, the Cincinnati Sirens has been competing at the semi-pro level since 2016. Most recently in arena soccer, the team captured their 4th PASL National Championship title. In addition, they tacked on the title from the US Arena Open Cup Championships for the first time. Read more about their victories at the following LINK. The coaching staff of the UWS team will consist of Brigit Reder, Alex Kamphaus, Chase Jackson and Jacob Morrison.

The organization includes the Cincinnati Sirens Academy for girls ages 14-18 that compete at a high level in the Winter and/or Summer, learning from some of the best female soccer players in Cincinnati. With each new season, the Cincinnati Sirens Women’s team strengthens its core. The staff believes that their success lies within the organization building a solid foundation for the future by integrating the young athletes of the Sirens Academy with the seasoned veterans and standout collegiate players of the indoor and outdoor squads. This approach not only gives every player the chance to challenge themselves in an extremely competitive environment, but it gives each player a chance for next-level opportunities.

Since their inception, the Sirens have seen several players move on to sign professional contracts overseas. In addition, five Sirens were part of the Team USA that competed in the World Minifootball World Cup in Ukraine last year, being named 2021 WMF World Cup Champions.
