United Women’s Soccer welcomes Chicago-based team

Metuchen, NJ – United Women’s Soccer is excited to announce the addition of Chicago Rush. The newly-launched women’s team is set to begin play in the Midwest Division in 2023. Stay tuned for the 2023 game schedule to be released this week.

“We are excited to welcome Chicago Rush into United Women’s Soccer,” said League Commissioner Joe Ferrara. “Chicago has always been a hotbed of talent in the sport and value the pathway that the organization is providing for its players.”

Chicago Rush is part of Rush Soccer, a global brand committed to providing the highest quality soccer program. There are over 60 Rush-based clubs in the United States and on 6 continents worldwide. Under the Rush Soccer umbrella, Chicago Rush provides it’s players with high level opportunities at the travel level, and internationally. As a natural next step, Chicago Rush will be fielding a women’s team to compete in the national pro-am league as an extension of their premier girls youth program.

“Chicago Rush is really excited about joining the United Women’s Soccer league for the summer of 2023,” said Executive Director & Owner Michel Cockroft. “It seems to be a natural transition for our organization to continue to offer a quality environment for our former players. Each year, we continue to have Rush alumni graduate from our program and go on to play at a collegiate level. This platform shows that being part of Rush continues beyond the youth level, and allows not only former players, but some of our current female coaches the opportunity to compete in a well established quality league such as UWS. We thank them again for giving us this great stage and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship.”
