After coming up short in 2022 and with more immense expectations in 2023, the New England Mutiny started the season off with a bang, defeating the Worcester Fuel FC 7-1 at Lusitano Stadium in Ludlow, MA. Hope Santaniello got the Mutiny on the score sheet after 23 minutes of action and followed up 14 minutes later with a brace. Up 2-0 at the break, the Mutiny broke through a 12-minute hat trick by Mutiny’s Catherine Barry who would add a late goal to make it four goals on the day and Chandler Pedolzky added to the tally list as well. Worcester was able to grab a goal to make the trip worthwhile in the 68th minute as defender Erica Dimmick was able to score for Fuel FC.
