Three upcoming midweek matches to look forward to

Metuchen, NJ — Three midweek matches will take place in UWS Week 4. Canadian-side Calgary Foothills will be traveling to face the Reno Vikings in Nevada. In the East, Connecticut Rush (New Haven) faces Connecticut Sporting in Middletown, CT and New England Mutiny (Ludlow, MA) faces Scorpions SC in South Shore, MA.

East Division

Wednesday, May 31

Sporting Connecticut vs Connecticut Rush 

Start Time: 8:00 PM EST

Venue: Xavier HS

The first “Nutmeg Derby” of the season features the Connecticut Rush traveling to take on Sporting Connecticut. Connecticut Rush looks to bounce back after falling to Albany Rush nearly two weeks ago. Meanwhile, Sporting CT looks to make their mark in League One after being promoted from League Two with an undefeated record in 2022.

Scorpions SC vs NE Mutiny

Start Time: 7:30 PM EST

Venue: TBD

Last season these two squads battled it out in the New England Division of the East Conference and this year they will compete to be the top team alongside 15 other clubs. This will be the first game of the season for Scorpions SC after finishing at the middle of the table while the Mutiny looks to get back in the winning column after a draw against Maine Footy.

West Division

Thursday, June 1

Reno Vikings vs Calgary Foothills

Start Time: 7:00 PM PDT

Venue: North Valley HS

Reno will jump back into action after a trip to Southern California and a tough matchup against Santa Clarita Blue Heat. They will welcome 2022 National Championship runner-up Calgary Foothills (Alberta). A strong Calgary side is heading south for their first road match of the season, looking to earn another 3 points after their home match victory against Los Angeles SC.

United Women’s Soccer (UWS) is a national pro-am league founded in December 2015 on the basis of providing equality, opportunity, and respect for the women’s game. UWS has proven to be an innovative league that has paved the way for the further advancement of women’s soccer. Eighty-plus teams based in the United States and Canada comprise two distinct levels of competition: UWS and UWS League Two (UWS2).

With over 38 NWSL draftees & 100 professional contracts to its name, UWS provides high-level competition for college players, aspiring & former professionals, and international stars. The season runs from May until the end of July, culminating in a National Championship.
