Madison Medalle and Amber Best lead the charge for Nationals SC as Leah Wolf looks to keep Livonia City from earning their first points of the season on the road.

The top spot in the Great Lakes Division is on the line as the Jaguars travel to face a Hawks team looking to do big things in the UWS this season. The Hawks started the 2023 season with a 7-1 win, while the Jaguars have played two games, each of those wins with a +8 goal differential. The Jaguars look to create some separation with a win.

Back-to-back matches for the Hawks as they travel to take on a Burn team making their UWS debut in 2023. It will be interesting to see what the Michigan Burn bring to the Summer of Soccer while also having a chance to see how the Hawks handle their second match in 24 hours.

6 points in two matches is a great start for newcomer Sporting CT, but they host a Maine Footy team that isn’t to be overlooked as a potential contender in the East. Both of these sides offer a balanced lineup and this match will come down to who blinks first as neither will want to leave points on the pitch with both Coppermine and FC Buffalo being undefeated.

BC United has shown it is capable of taking points in matches in their first three games against quality sides in the UWS. They host a balanced NJ Copa FC team that will be playing their second game of the season and looking to jump into the race in the East for a playoff opportunity.

With both teams playing their 4th match of the 2023 season it will be interesting to see if either side can get take all three points or if they split them. Worcester Fuel sits one place behind CT Rush based on goal difference while scoring 2 more goals than the Rush. Look for both teams to come out wanting to win and get their 2023 campaign back on track.

May 20th doesn’t seem like it was long ago and Lancaster Inferno hasn’t forgotten about that opening match loss to Coppermine. Coppermine meanwhile, has won 3 consecutive matches scoring 3 goals in each of them. Look for this matchup to be a bit more physical and tactical this time around as Lancaster needs to grab points to stay in the playoff picture in the East.

FC Berlin with save of the week winner Hanna Johnson travels to Steel City looking for revenge after a 3-0 loss just this past weekend. FC Berlin looks to get Celina Barnard and Gillian Rovers going early like they did a few weeks back against Erie, but Steel City keeper Mackenna Yaracs has a different plan coming off here save of the week in week 2 of the Summer of Soccer.

Catherine Berry leads a strong Mutiny team as they host an Albany Rush side with dreams of the postseason in the UWS. The Rush on the other hand head to Lusitano with their own threat in Katelyn Krohn who has 7 goals in three matches this season and is in the picture as an early-season offensive MVP candidate in the UWS. This could be a momentum-swinging matchup with lots on the line and all to play for early on with Mutiny looking to rebound off of a draw last match against Maine Footy.

The two-pronged attack of Barberic and Cutrona helps lead the herd of FC Buffalo to Erie as they not only look to continue their winning ways as a team but also add to their early season point total as both players have combined for 12 goals and 5 assists this season. Erie meanwhile looks to continue building off of their last match against FC Berlin where they came back from a 2-goal deficit to win 3-2 on the road with Brooklyn Respecki leading the charge for the Commodores.

After a draw to open the season, Scorpions SC is back in action looking for their first win of the season as they host the New England Mutiny. After playing on Saturday this is a chance for the Mutiny to jump back into the thick of things in the East and keep their postseason aspirations alive while it is also an opportunity for the Scorpions to get their season on track with a win against a potentially different Mutiny looking side because of the weekend.

All eyes are on the task at hand for Indiana Union as they face an RBFC Elite team looking to put their opening season loss behind them in Indiana. The Union looks to stay in the Midwest race with a win following their 3-point earning performance against Edgewater last weekend. The Elite, on the other hand, are wanting to improve their 2023 fortunes after their opening loss to Cincinnati.

A win in this match helps increase the Sirens’ postseason possibilities in their fourth match of the season but newcomer Chicago Rush opens their season with a chance to change the landscape of the Midwest division. All eyes in this match should be looking at Cincinnati keeper Taylor Spiller who has faced 16 shots and only allowed 2 past her this season, while their attack is solid with the likes of Miranda Weslake and Makala Woods.

Southwest soccer is back and both of these squads made huge first impressions last week as they were able to earn three points from the respected first outings. This match looks to bring some heat as they are both wanting to earn or perhaps demand some respect for their clubs. Look for ATX Blues midfielder Lucy Ortiz to continue to make plays in hopes of securing three points for the Blues, while Luxoria FC has some firepower with Kennedy Kessler and a ball-winner in the midfield in Jacquline Cortez.

Both San Antonio sides left their matches last weekend with 0 points and perhaps lots of takeaways to get back on track. The Athenians will look towards the leadership of Eve Clarkson and Keeley Ayala to jumpstart their season after an opening 1-0 loss to the Blues while the Runners have worked hard in training to shore up some areas that could impact their own trajectory in the 2023 Summer of Soccer in the UWS.

It took 90+ minutes of soccer to find a winner in the first “Hollywood Derby” of 2023, the question is will it take the same for the second? A late winner from Sophia Ruys gave the visiting Blue Heat all 3 points, while LASC has nothing to be upset about as it was a well-played match for both teams. Look for LASC and their homegrown squad to come out with a chip on their shoulder against their cross-town rival.

If ever a must-win, this is it for FC Arizona. After a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the visiting Calgary Foothills, this will put a dent in the postseason hopes of FC Arizona, who will want to stay in the mix. All eyes will be on Darya Mosallaei as she will need to keep an attacking Calgary team at bay with the likes of Mya Jones upfront, Lara Kazandjian in the middle of the park, and a wingback in Grace Stordy looking to keep the Foothill season running.

Eighty-plus teams based in the United States and Canada comprise two distinct levels of competition: UWS and UWS League Two (UWS2).
With over 38 NWSL draftees & 100 professional contracts to its name, UWS provides high-level competition for college players, aspiring & former professionals, and international stars. The season runs from May until the end of July, culminating in a National Championship.
