United Women's Soccer UWS national pro-am league women's soccer FC Arizona Los Angeles SC

Metuchen, NJ — UWS teams look to strengthen their conference positioning ahead of the National Championship which will take place in late July.

Great Lakes Division

Wednesday, June 14

Livonia City vs MI Legends

Start Time: 8:00 PM EST

Venue: Schoolcraft College

Midweek action always brings a surprise or two in the UWS and this match could bring just that to the Great Lakes division with both teams looking to stay in the race for the playoffs like the Legends or get their season jumpstarted after a slow start like Livonia City who is still searching for their first win of the 2023 season.

Thursday, June 15

Michigan Hawks vs Futsal Factory

Start Time: 7:30 PM EST

Venue: Schoolcraft College

Coming off a draw in their last outing, the Hawks find themselves in an unfamiliar position in the Great Lakes, looking up at two other clubs ahead of them. Futsal Factory comes in more than halfway through their Summer of Soccer still trying to gather three points in a match. Look for the Hawks to come out with a chip on their shoulder from last Monday’s draw and find a way to get into the race for the top spot in the division.

Saturday, June 17

MI Legends vs MI Burn

Start Time: 1:00 PM EST

Venue: Legacy Center

An opportunity to jump to the lead is on the mind of the Legends who can make some noise with two wins this week and lead the division before some crucial matches to finish out. The Burn have their sights on getting started this Summer of Soccer with lots to play for on their end as a potential top team or perhaps a spoiler for others.

Futsal Factory vs MI Stars

Start Time: 4:00 PM EST

Venue: Dexter HS

Is it too early to count teams out in the UWS, NEVER! But if there was ever a match this could be it Futsal Factory and Stars are still looking up to other clubs in the division and needing a win to start their engines. Could a win propel one of these clubs the rest of the way? Could we see a resurgence from either of these teams if they walk away with all 3 points?

Sunday, June 18

Livonia City vs MI Jaguars

Start Time: 4:00 PM EST

Venue: Schoolcraft College

The Jaguars visit a Livonia City side that is capable of playing spoiler and needs to protect its home turf. The Jaguars are wanting to keep pace with a Legends team who will have played two games this week and hope to stay on their tails in order to stay on pace, while also trying to keep the Hawks at bay. Anything can happen here and this is one to watch for a division that is heating up.

East Division

Wednesday, June 14

Keystone FC vs Coppermine United

Start Time: 6:45 PM EST

Venue: Memorial Park Stadium

A midweek match between two teams at different ends of the table but both looking to reset their season is a game that has many in the division keeping an eye on as Coppermine heads to Keystone. After a loss this past weekend Coppermine sees itself still in the playoff picture but not in the position they would like. Keystone on the other hand has played two matches to date and is looking to use this as a potential springboard for the sprint to the finish and hopefully playoffs.

CT Rush vs Sporting CT

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

Venue: East Haven HS

The second match in the “Nutmeg Derby” will be an exciting one as both teams are looking to continue their successful journey. CT Rush currently sits 11th in the East, 2 points from a playoff position at this moment. Sporting on the other hand sits third and a win could see them leap into the second position behind FC Buffalo with four games left in the season to play.

Thursday, June 15

FC Buffalo vs FC Berlin

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

Venue: Williamsville South HS

Just keep winning is the mentality in Buffalo as they look to stay unbeaten in a very tough division with FC Berlin coming to town. Buffalo has been led offensively but it has been the play of their backline and goalkeeper who has spearheaded the season with Shealyn Vanderbosch leading the way only conceding once this season to date. FC Berlin will look to Kathryn Hoeger and Gillian Rovers to get them going as they hope to slow down and perhaps upset a determined FC Buffalo.

Friday, June 16

Albany Rush vs NE Mutiny

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

Venue: Union College

A replay from this past Saturday that saw the Mutiny hold Albany at bay with a clean sheet. This time the Rush hope the scoreline will be a bit different as they look to stay in the picture out East sitting in the 7th spot and currently in the playoffs. Albany will be relying on the defense of Lauren Conti as well as the shot-stopping ability of Molly DiCaprio and Emma Anderson to stay in the hunt out East.

Saturday, June 17

Steel City FC vs Flower City 1872

Start Time: 5:30 PM EST

Venue: Founders Field

Flower City is still in search of their first points of the Summer of Soccer, and college teammates Maya and Taylor Rutland and Kate Wagner are ready to lead the charge for a Flower City team that is ready to turn their season around after a tough start. Steel City on the other hand has had a solid season that has caught the attention of teams in the East with their only blemish being a tough loss to FC Buffalo. Look for McKenna Yaracs to add to her saves, while Taylor Hamlett tries to add to her goal total for Steel City in a very important game.

BC United vs Coppermine United

Start Time: 6:00 PM EST

Venue: Binghamton University

8 points in 4 matches is a great start to an inaugural season and BC United has done so with many of their players logging minutes that have helped create a unified effort as they get comfortable playing together. Maya Anand has continued finding the back of the net after finding the net 12 times in her 2022 senior season with Binghamton and 4 to date this summer in the UWS. But it has been the defensive duo of Alterision and Cooke who will be called upon to stop a Coppermine team that is looking to punch its ticket to the playoffs. Coppermine will need a full every from their 11 with Canoles, Rada, and Stevenson leading the way as they hope to finish the season as they started.

Keystone FC vs NJ Copa FC

Start Time: 6:45 PM EST

Venue: Memorial Park Stadium

Keystone returns to the pitch after a mid-week battle with Coppermine to face a hungry Copa FC side looking to get going this season after two consecutive losses. The backline partnership of Shea Collins and Lauren Costello will be important for Keystone as they look to hold Copa off the scoresheet. Meanwhile, NJ Copa has been searching for some goal-scoring, could this be the week we see Emily Jozek or Julia Gil find the back of the net and help Copa get their first win of the season?

Erie Commodores vs FC Berlin

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

Venue: Mercyhurst University

Erie has been consistent to date and while their record is 1-1-1, it doesn’t really show how well this team has played. The Commodores have had many key contributions from players and the leadership of Bermudez, Respecki, and Shepard has been amazing for a team that looks forward to more opportunities this summer. FC Berlin comes in after a midweek match that will require a lot of energy against FC Buffalo so it will be interesting to see what they do in this match.

Scorpions SC vs CT Rush

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

Venue: Medway HS

Two draws and a loss is not the start Scorpions SC wanted when they began the season but with 5 games to play and sitting 12th in the table, there is still hope to get into the last 8 in the Summer of Soccer. Look for Scorpions GK Bella Mendoza to lead the charge this match against a Rush team that comes in after a midweek matchup in the “Nutmeg Derby” looking for points to stay in the race out East.

Sunday, June 18

Lancaster Inferno vs NJ Copa FC

Start Time: 6:00 PM EST

Venue: Millersville University

Every match from here on out will seem like a must-win for Lancaster Inferno as they host a longtime rival in NJ Copa FC who will have played 24 hours prior. A win last time out against Coppermine has the Inferno wanting more after an unexpectedly slow start to the campaign. Co-captain Marissa DiGenova has been a solid contributor for the Inferno, leading the team in points and minutes so far alongside the leadership of co-captains Ryelle Shuey and Teresa Rook helping keep the shape and style of play that is familiar to Lancaster Inferno throughout their history. NJ Copa FC will want to leave everything on the field for this match as they can’t afford to drop points if they have playoff aspirations.

Maine Footy vs Worcester Fuel

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

Venue: Deering HS

Sitting at 8th in the table Maine Footy will look to perhaps change their goal differential from negative to positive if they want to stay in the race going forward. The UWS return of Tori Sousa doesn’t hurt any team’s fortunes as the forward gives Maine Footy extra firepower along with the dangerous Anna Hurley and midfielder Madison Michaud who has looked really good in her 241 minutes of soccer for the team. Worcester Fuel has come in with a new look as well as some new faces in the Summer of Soccer and has done a good job of staying competitive in matches despite the scoreline. This is a team that works hard and will give their all till the final whistle which could pose a problem on the road this week.

Midwest Division

Saturday, June 17

Indiana Union VS Edgewater Castle

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

Venue: Trinity Sports

Indiana Union has done everything right to date to stay alive in the Midwest division with Cincinnati looking good to date as they host an Edgewater Castle team that still remembers the last time they played and wants to get revenge in hopes of also keeping pace with the leaders in Cincy.

RBFC Elite vs Cincinnati Sirens

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

Venue: Riverside Brookfield HS

If there was ever a time to play spoiler and perhaps crash a party this is RBFC’s moment. The Elite hosts a very good and confident Sirens team who are looking to take advantage of the Union and Edgewater match in hopes of gaining an edge on winning the division and are more than halfway to that goal.

Southwest Division

Friday, June 16

ATX Blues vs SA Athenians

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

Venue: Round Rock

Not many will remember June 2nd but you can guarantee that the Athenians do, as they lost 1-0 to the Blues at home. After winning the Riverwalk Derby 1-0, the Athenians are hoping that was the match that got the train rolling and will want to come out of this match with a win. The Blues on the other hand will want to put their last match, a 4-0 loss to Luxoria behind them and try to get back into the race in the division.

Saturday, June 17

Luxoria FC vs San Antonio Runners

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

Venue: TBD

Luxoria FC looked every bit a contender in their previous match against the Blues while the Runners had a physical match that saw them come up short and goalless. Look for the Runners to come out fast and try to strong-arm the game early while also making sure they know where the dangers of Luxoria are at all times as it could turn the other way quickly for them.

West Division

Saturday, June 17

Calgary Foothills vs SC Blue Heat

Start Time: 3:00 PM EST

Venue: Broadview Park

Calgary puts their undefeated streak on the line as they host a Blue Heat team that is riding a wave leading up to this battle for the top spot in the West. Calgary is led by Mya Jones who has 4 goals so far this season while Sarah Dilling continues to keep opponents off the scoresheet with Blue Heat bringing some attacking threats North of the Boarder in Sade Adamolekun, Alexis Nguyen, and Amanda Perez who have combined for 8 goals so far this season.

FC Arizona vs LASC

Start Time: 5:00 PM EST

Venue: Campo Verde HS

It is never time to panic but if the postseason is a dream now is the time for FC Arizona to get back on track as they host a LASC team that is wanting to turn their season around as well. Back-to-back losses for both teams mean it is time to grab three points in a West division that could be wide open based on the right result from the Foothill vs Blue Heat match. Look for both these teams to come out and establish control early in hopes of getting the win.

Sunday, June 18

Reno Vikings vs LASC

Start Time: 2:00 PM EST

Venue: North Valley HS

LASC makes the journey from Arizona to Northern California to play a Reno Viking team that has shown glimpses this Summer of Soccer and now needs to put it all together to get going. LASC will be wanting to earn all three points in this match regardless of the result from Saturday, but will the travel play a role in the outcome in the end?
