Wednesday, June 14

Livonia City 0 vs MI Legends 6

The Legends had a packed weekend of matches and needing wins to stay on top of the division was no small task. With the win, the Legends made nine points in three games while Livonia City is still searching for their first points of the season. 

Thursday, June 15

Michigan Hawks 3 vs Futsal Factory 0

A young team that is making waves in the Great Lakes division the Hawks have shown to be a very consistent team that works hard for each other and their community. A record of 3-0-1 has this group 2 points away from the leaders in MI Legends with a match-up against them on the horizon on the 27th of June. 

Saturday, June 17

MI Legends 3 vs MI Burn 0

Don’t sleep on the race for first in this division as the Legends keep finding ways to win matches in the Summer of Soccer. A record of 4-0-0 with 4 shutouts is a great start, especially against many of the talented teams in the division. A mid-week battle against a determined Jaguars side could be a tipping point for both teams heading into the final stretch.

Futsal Factory 3 vs MI Stars 1

Both of these teams came into the match wanting to walk away with all 3 points to help their cause for the Summer and Futsal Factory got the win that they not only needed but deserved as they played a complete 90 minutes on their way to earning all 3 and helping them get back in the picture. With three more games left in the season for Futsal Factory, can they use this win as momentum the rest of the way?

Sunday, June 18

Livonia City 2 vs MI Jaguars 5

Needing to win in order to keep pace with the leaders, the Jaguars traveled to face a Livonia City side looking to get their season going in the right direction after an unexpectedly slow start. In the end, the Jaguars left Schoolcraft College with all three points and sit 5 points behind the Legends with a game in hand.

East Division

Wednesday, June 14

Keystone FC 1 vs Coppermine 2

Trying to stay on the tails of FC Buffalo, Coppermine did just that with a hard-fought match against a Keystone FC side fighting to finish in a playoff position in the East. This match could have gone either way as both teams kept finding opportunities going forward but the backlines stepped up big when called upon. In the end, Coppermine keeps doing what it needs to do in order to give itself an opportunity to play in the National Championship in late July.

CT Rush 2 vs Sporting CT 4

The first “Nutmeg Derby” gave us 5 goals back in May, and this one lived up to the hype as well with 6 goals but in the end, it was Sporting CT capturing all 3 points again, remaining undefeated and making some noise to the other teams in the East. Sporting CT has been a surprise this season, but with many familiar UWS athletes on the roster, it is easy to understand how they keep improving each week. Kylee McIntosh has led a defensive group that has only given up 5 goals to date while Abby McCarthy has come in and taken command of the 18. Sporting has a tough test this coming weekend against the NE Mutiny on Saturday in Ludlow.

Thursday, June 15

FC Buffalo 3 vs FC Berlin 0

FC Buffalo has always been a team that values growth and improvement on and off the pitch and 18 wins regular season wins in three years is a testament to those values. Each week has been a different contributor to the side and this week saw Ella Rudney step up and grab a brace for Buffalo while the week 6 save of the week winner in the UWS, Erin Weir continues to lead this group by example with her hard work defensively.

Friday, June 16

Albany Rush 3 vs NE Mutiny 2

Albany was able to return the favor from their previous matchup that saw the shutout by the Mutiny and take all three points in the race for the top 8 out East. These two are now separated by only goal differential which is a +1 for the Mutiny. With four games left this season, it will be fun to see how this race to the postseason continues to go for both of these respected teams.

Saturday, June 17

BC United 0 vs Coppermine 2

Unbeaten in their previous 4 matches, BC United was and still is a team to watch out East. The difference in this match is that they faced off against a Coppermine side who are determined not to slip up anymore this season.  Alyssa Minnick has been a force for Coppermine to date as she has been able to make sure the team has only given up 5 goals to date.

Keystone FC 5 vs NJ Copa FC 0

A loss to Coppermine mid-week was a wake-up call for Keystone FC who came out ready to put that match behind them. This was Keystone’s first win of 2023 and came at a time when they are on the outside looking in for a playoff spot in the East. Another midweek match coming up against Lancaster could be critical to the rest of the Summer for Keystone.

Erie Commodores 5 vs FC Berlin 3

This was a very entertaining 8 goal affair after these two faced off earlier this summer in a 5 goal match. Both matches were won by Erie, but FC Berlin continues to play at a high level and gives many a bit of a problem to get a result. Erie finds itself looking up into the top 8 behind Lancaster Inferno by goal difference and FC Buffalo on the horizon.

Scorpions SC 2 vs CT Rush 1

The first win of the 2023 Summer of Soccer, couldn’t have come at a better time for Scorpions SC as they jumped to 11th with the win. With four matches left and 2 of them against teams in the top 10, Scorpions will want to win out to help their cause to keep playing a bit longer this summer and look for Bella Mendoza to help keep it going as she has been strong as of late between the posts for Scorpions SC.

Sunday, June 18

Lancaster Inferno 2 vs NJ Copa FC 0

A much-needed win against a longtime rival was the answer Lancaster Inferno was looking for as they continue to get results after a slow start to their Summer of Soccer. The core of Lancaster Inferno has been impressive as they have 11 players logging quality minutes for the team which only helps the cause as they seem to get more and more comfortable with each other every week. Look for them to continue this current run of form the rest of the way out. NJ Copa FC will get a chance to play spoilers this Summer with matchups against Lancaster Inferno and Coppermine in consecutive weeks.

Maine Footy 1 vs Worcester Fuel 1

The first points of the year for Worcester must feel really good, especially when you are able to do it against a team like Maine Footy who have been very good at home and also carry playoff aspirations. The draw kept Maine out of the top 8 with three matches to play in their inaugural Summer of Soccer. Look for Maine to regroup with matches against Albany and Scorpions SC coming up soon and all to play for.

Midwest Division

Saturday, June 24

Indiana Union 5 VS Edgewater Castle 1

Looking to keep pace with Cincinnati, both of these teams played for the win and it was the Union who came out on top of this one with a well-played and very aggressive attack. Jenna Lang and Amelia White have helped keep Indiana going strong as the two have each recorded 4 goals this season, while Erin Baker has only allowed two past her this season. Edgewater now though has their work cut out for them with two consecutive matches with dropped points and a meeting with Cincinnati this coming weekend.

RBFC Elite 0 vs Cincinnati Sirens 7

Scoring 14 seconds into the match hand not looking back in this one as the Sirens got off to a fast start and they kept their foot on the pedal as they have averaged a goal every 18 minutes to date in 2023. Don’t look for them to slow down as they get ready to host an Edgewater side that split the points in their first matchup and could potentially derail the Siren’s playoff hopes.

Southwest Division

Friday, June 16

ATX Blues 0 vs SA Athenians 3

The Athenians remember their opening loss at home to the Blues and wanted to make sure they returned the favor and got themselves back in the race to finish on top of the Southwest with a convincing 3-0 win on the road. Mia Wildeman has returned to the Athenian lineup while Keeley Ayala was just announced to have returned as well. The return of some seasoned players in UWS is a welcomed addition to the Athenians as they look to take the top spot away from Luxoria FC in the coming weeks.

West Division

Saturday, June 17

Calgary Foothills 1 vs SC Blue Heat 0

Are streaks made to be broken? If you asked Foothills, they would say no as they hosted a Blue Heat team that was determined to end the streak while also taking over as the top team out west. Mabel Dunn and Sarah Kinzner helped Foothills with a clean sheet and clean record as Foothills now travel to LA to play LASC, who had a great weekend, and a Blue Heat team that is going to be prepared for this match as they will want to return the favor in the West.

FC Arizona 0 vs LASC 1

LASC started the weekend of travel on the right foot in a game that was viewed as an opportunity for both teams to get back into the playoff picture out West. LASC in the end boarded a plane bound for Northern California with all 3 points looking for more. FC Arizona is left to look back and get ready for their last 4 matches with hopes of getting back into the playoff picture.

Sunday, June 18

Reno Vikings 0 vs LASC 2

745 miles in travel and the same result for LASC as they collected an important 3 points returning home 3 points back of SC Blue Heat. Reno has looked better in their last few outings but is still in search of a win this summer. Could that come this weekend when they travel to FC Arizona? The big question is could one of these two teams upset the balance out West in the coming weeks?

Eighty-plus teams based in the United States and Canada comprise two distinct levels of competition: UWS and UWS League Two (UWS2).

With over 38 NWSL draftees & 100 professional contracts to its name, UWS provides high-level competition for college players, aspiring & former professionals, and international stars. The season runs from May until the end of July, culminating in a National Championship.
