United Women's Soccer (UWS) is delighted to announce the promotion of Back Mountain Torrent from UWS League 2 to UWS, recognizing their outstanding performance and contribution to soccer in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

“We’re excited and honored to be promoted to UWS, it’s a testament to the great athletes, trainers, coaches, and clubs of our area” noted Torrent team admin Ryan Rowe. “We always knew there is something special about women’s soccer in Northeast and Central Pennsylvania, we’re elated to see it on display on a national level,” added Rowe.

For over 45 years, the Back Mountain Soccer Club has been a cornerstone of the region's soccer community, known for its commitment to youth development and excellence on the field. Since its establishment in 1978, the club has fielded recreational teams for young players starting at four years old, as well as highly competitive youth travel squads, showcasing some of Pennsylvania's top high school players.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Tayler Jamison and Associate Head Coach Lilly Cross, Back Mountain Torrent achieved an undefeated season in League 2, securing the mid-Atlantic conference title and earning a well-deserved promotion to UWS. The team's success was further highlighted by the outstanding performances of its players, with Brynn Hess named Defensive Player of the Year, Emma Sweitzer recognized as Offensive Player of the Year, and Tayler Jamison honored as Coach of the Year.

"We are thrilled to see Back Mountain Torrent's promotion to UWS," said League Commissioner Joe Ferrara. "Their dedication to excellence and development of young talent is commendable, and we look forward to seeing them compete at the next level," added Ferrara.

Back Mountain Torrent's promotion is a testament to the club's commitment to fostering a love for the game and nurturing talent from a young age. As they prepare for the upcoming season in UWS, the club invites the community to join them in celebrating this significant achievement and supporting the team on their journey.
