San Bernardino, CA – United Women’s Soccer (UWS) is excited to announce the newest addition to the Western Conference, as Inland Empire FC will join the league for the 2025 summer season. The expansion marks a significant step forward for the club, which will now provide a competitive pre-professional pathway for female athletes in San Bernardino and the Inland Empire.
Founded in 2011, Inland Empire FC began with a men’s team, driven by a mission to create opportunities for young players to pursue higher levels of soccer. The club’s goal was to help place athletes into college programs—a mission that has successfully resulted in 20+ players earning college soccer opportunities. With growing community support, the club will now expand into the women’s game, joining UWS to further its mission of player development and exposure.
“We’re excited to bring highly competitive women’s soccer to San Bernardino and the Inland Empire,” said Oswaldo Moreno, Owner of Inland Empire FC. “We know the UWS is the right partner to provide the support and competition for our athletes this summer. We can’t wait to get on the field in May.”
The addition of Inland Empire FC brings more visibility to the untapped talent in the region, giving players a platform to showcase their abilities on a national stage.
“We are thrilled to join United Women’s Soccer as this gives us the opportunity to showcase the untapped talent here in San Bernardino to a national audience,” said Danny Woodfill, General Manager of Inland Empire FC. “UWS will provide a pre-professional pathway for the female players in our area while simultaneously benefiting the region’s top college players.”
UWS Commissioner Joe Ferrara expressed his enthusiasm for the club’s addition:
“Inland Empire FC embodies the mission of UWS by providing opportunities for aspiring female athletes to grow and compete at the highest level. We are proud to welcome the club to the league and look forward to the positive impact they will have on the Inland Empire soccer community.”
With the 2025 season set to kick off in May, Inland Empire FC is ready to make its mark on the pitch and become a vital part of the women’s soccer landscape in Southern California.
