Chicago, IL – November 2025 — Berber City FC is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural women’s team that will compete in the United Women’s Soccer (UWS) league starting in the upcoming season. This milestone marks a significant step forward in Berber City’s commitment to developing elite female soccer talent and establishing a clear pathway from youth to semi-professional levels.
“UWS is excited to add Berber City to the Central Conference of UWS. The organization has a track record of success in the pre-professional space and will be a great addition to the league and community”, stated UWS Commissioner Joe Ferrara.
Building on the foundation of our girls’ youth program, launched just a few years ago, Berber City is dedicated to creating a true developmental pathway that supports female athletes in reaching their highest potential. The addition of the UWS women’s team perfectly complements our established men's semi-professional program, which has been competing successfully for the past five years.
“We believe United Women’s Soccer is the perfect fit for Berber City as we expand our commitment to women's soccer,” said Amine Airaki, Director of Coaching and Co-Founder of Berber City FC. “This initiative will provide our female players with access to a competitive, high-quality environment and open up opportunities for growth both on and off the field. We are excited to offer our girls a pathway to collegiate opportunities, professional careers, and beyond — right here at Berber City.”
The new women’s team will join UWS’s robust and growing platform for pre-professional and amateur players who aspire to compete at the highest levels. Berber City FC’s dedication to development, combined with the league’s reputation, promises an exciting and competitive future for female soccer in Chicago.
Berber City invites local players, fans, and community members to support the team as it embarks on this new chapter, continuing its mission to elevate soccer in the region for both men and women.
