Midland, Mich. — Midland Soccer Club (MSC) is excited to announce that its Fusion Women’s program has been accepted into United Women’s Soccer (UWS), a national pre-professional women’s soccer league, beginning this upcoming season. The club will compete in the Great Lakes Conference.

"We are thrilled to welcome Midland Soccer Club to UWS. This move reflects their commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for female athletes in Midland and beyond. Being part of a national league brings greater visibility, stronger competition, and an exciting future for their players, fans, and partners," states League Commissioner Joe Ferrara.

Founded in 1977, Midland Soccer Club has a long-standing commitment to player development and community engagement. The addition of UWS competition marks an important milestone in the continued growth of the Fusion Women’s program and the club as a whole.

“We are honored and extremely excited to be able to join the United Women’s Soccer League,” said George Hageage, Technical Director of Midland Soccer Club. “It was important for us to find a league that was Michigan based yet had a national reach. Since 2015, the UWS has consistently offered a competitive league with a national footprint which is focused on the continued development of players and clubs. We look forward to the opportunity to continue to offer a quality experience to all our players as we develop and grow as a club.”

The Fusion Women’s team was established in the summer of 2014 and began play in the Michigan Super League. The program has continued to progress competitively, finishing second in league play in 2024 and capturing its first league championship in 2025.

Midland Soccer Club currently offers a wide range of programs, including a recreational in-house program, the Fusion travel program, TOPSoccer, and an adult league. Joining United Women’s Soccer aligns with MSC’s mission to provide high-level opportunities for players while strengthening the club’s pathway for female athletes.
