Lancaster Inferno Announce Second Round Of Signings

Five more players join the Inferno as they prepare for their 2016 home opener

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The Lancaster Inferno have officially announced their second round of signings for their 2016 inaugural season in the East Conference of United Women’s Soccer (UWS). This group includes local and international players that will help lead the Eastern Pennsylvania-based team in their home opener on Sunday, May 22nd as they take on the New England Mutiny at Millersville University’s Pucillo Field (5:00 PM kickoff).

Chilcoat played for La Salle University and anchored the defense that won the Atlantic 10 Championship in 2012-2013. As a four year starter and two year captain, Ashley was named to the A-10 All Championship Team and holds the record at La Salle for most games and minutes played in a four-year career.

Monterroso is a member of the Guatemala Women’s National Team that most recently participated in the CONCACAF Olympic qualifiers in February. She was a member of the U-17 and U-20 National Team programs and has played for several years for Guatemalan Women’s League champion UNIFUT.

Plantive most recently played for ESOF La Roche-sur-Yon in the National 1 Division in France. She was also a member of the France U-20 Women’s National Team, making her first appearance against Sweden. In 2010, Alex competed in the U-20 World Cup in Germany where France played against Germany, Costa Rica & Colombia in group play.

Rieker (formerly known as Amy Pickard) is a local standout who was named to the Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) All-Conference Team and also selected Team MVP in 2011 for the University of Delaware. Amy scored a total of 25 goals in her collegiate career. She also scored the first goal of Inferno’s inaugural season in 2008 and helped lead the team to East Conference semifinals that season.

Rios played for the Penn Legacy Soccer Club and was a four-year letter winner at Penn Manor High School prior to her collegiate experience at Bloomsburg University. As a starter at Penn Manor, Rios helped lead the team to the Pennsylvania State Finals in 2011.

About United Women’s Soccer (UWS): UWS is a national women’s soccer league sanctioned by U.S. Soccer through the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). UWS is a professionally operated league created for teams that meet high minimum standards. The season runs from May until the end of July, culminating in a National Championship match.
