Lancaster Inferno Fill Out Coaching Staff

The Eastern Penn.-based organization announces staff ahead of UWS opener

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The Lancaster Inferno continues to prepare for their inaugural season in the United Women’s Soccer (UWS) pro-am league, as Head Coach Francisco Cleaves has officially announced additions to his coaching staff. Luis Perdomo joins the organization as Associate Head Coach and Adam Lewis as Goalkeeper Coach while Strength & Conditioning Coach Chris Weibel will return for his third consecutive season.

The 2016 home opener for the Inferno will happen on Sunday, May 22nd as they take on the New England Mutiny on Pucillo Field at Millersville University (5:00 PM kickoff).

“I am very excited and looking forward to work with this group that has a varied and extensive level of experience,” said Cleaves. "All our coaches have worked with women's soccer programs and have a passion for developing players to reach their full potential."

Perdomo most recently led the Honduras U-20 Women’s National Team and has extensive coaching and professional playing experience in Honduras and the United States. He broke into the professional ranks in 1990 and played until 2003, becoming part of the Honduras U-23 and Men’s Senior National team from 1996-1998. In addition to his professional playing experience, Luis has his United States Soccer Federation (USSF) “A” License and a Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) ”C” Coaching License.

Lewis joins the Inferno as Goalkeeper Coach with over 10 years of experience coaching across the United Kingdom, Sweden and USA. He also played four years professionally and seven years at the semi-pro level. Adam is currently the Head Goalkeeper Coach for several local youth programs. He has a UEFA “B” Coaching License and England Football Association (FA) Level 2 Goalkeeping certification.

Weibel holds his bachelor’s in Physical Fitness from Houghton College. Chris has been the Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Veritas Academy since 2011, where he has recorded the most wins in the school’s history. Chris has over 8 years of experience leading speed & agility training for athletes at the youth, high school, collegiate, post-collegiate, and national team level.

About United Women’s Soccer (UWS): UWS is a national women’s soccer league sanctioned by U.S. Soccer through the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). UWS is a professionally operated league created for teams that meet high minimum standards. The season runs from May until the end of July, culminating in a National Championship match.
