2017 UWS Championship & Playoff Info

The 2017 UWS National Championship features a four-team format

METUCHEN, NJ - United Women’s Soccer (UWS) has officially announced the details for the conference playoffs and 2017 UWS National Championship (July 21-22). The postseason will commence the weekend of July 15-16, with the regular season champion Grand Rapids FC Women hosting the four-team Midwest Conference playoffs. The winner will advance to the UWS Championship. The representative from the East Conference will be determined on Tuesday, July 18th as the top two teams face off for the automatic berth.

The Santa Clarita Blue Heat won the West title this past Saturday and receive the automatic berth into the UWS Championship as the conference champion. A “wild card” team will join the three conference champions as the fourth team in the national tournament. The wild card team will be determined via a number of criteria: record, strength of schedule, travel concerns, etc.

The 2017 UWS National Championship will occur at Grandville High School in Grandville, MI on Friday, July 21-Saturday, July 22. The two National Semifinal matches will be played at 4:30 PM & 7:30 PM (EDT) on Friday, July 21st. The two Semifinal winners will go up against each other in the 2017 UWS National Final at 7:30 PM on Saturday, July 22nd. You can purchase tickets to the championship by clicking HERE.

PLAYOFFS (Regional sites)

MIDWEST CONFERENCE - Regular season champion hosts. #1 vs. #4, #2 vs. #3 (Saturday, July 15). Semifinal winners (Sunday, July 16). Winner goes to championship.

EAST CONFERENCE - #1 vs. #2 (Tuesday, July 18). Winner goes to championship.

WEST CONFERENCE - Regular season champion (Santa Clarita) goes to championship.

WILD CARD - Fourth representative determined by record, strength of schedule, travel concerns, etc.
