Connecticut Fusion Announces First Six Signings

UWS East expansion team kicks off 2018 season on Friday, May 11th

FARMINGTON, CT - The Connecticut Fusion of the East Conference in United Women's Soccer (UWS) have announced their preliminary signings for their upcoming inaugural season. Connecticut hosts the New England Mutiny on Friday, May 11th (7:00 PM kickoff) at Farmington Sports Arena in the conference opener. Ahead of their first tryouts that are scheduled for March 31st, the team has announced their first six roster signings, all with experience at the collegiate level and beyond.

"We are happy with our initial group of players, from a competitive standpoint," said Co-Managing Director JP Dellacamera. "All played at a high level locally, and a few of these players have had extensive playing experience beyond college. Together with Co-Managing Director Shep Messing, Head Coach Tom D'Agostino, and General Manager JP DiTommaso, we will be signing other players soon, with several coming from our open tryouts."

F Chanel Johnson - a four-year member of the University of Hartford Hawks, awarded the 2013/14 Striker of the Year Award for the America East Conference; former player with the New England Mutiny, Boston Breakers Reserves and Sunnanå SK of Sweden.

MF Stephanie Santos - competed for two years with Southern Connecticut State University and finished her collegiate career with the University of Hartford Hawks; a 2016 All-UWS First Team selection for the New England Mutiny; member of the 2014 Portugal Women's National Team.

D Kylee McIntosh - attended Marist College, where she was appointed team captain and collected numerous accolades including All-MAAC honors; former member of the New England Mutiny and current coach at Academica Futebol Club.

MF Hayley Nolan - junior at the University of Hartford, two-time America East All-Conference selection; played with the Republic of Ireland Youth National Team and this will be her first season in UWS.

MF Sierra Stone - sophomore at the University of Hartford, recorded three goals and six assists as a freshman where she earned America East Co-Rookie of the Year; 2017 America East Midfielder of the Year and this will be her first season in UWS.

MF/F Tori Sousa - played collegiately for UMass and Central Connecticut State University; a former member of the New England Mutiny; played overseas in Scotland; currently coaches at FSA Football Club in Farmington, CT.
