LOS ANGELES, CA - So Cal Crush FC of the West Conference of United Women's Soccer (UWS) is excited to announce they have hired Kurtis Millan as Head Coach for the 2018 season. Millan comes to So Cal Crush FC from Northern Ireland and spent many years playing professional soccer in the UK. After five years of coaching on the East Coast for Global Premier Soccer, Millan has made his way out to the West Coast and is excited for the opportunity to coach in the highly-competitive UWS West.

"I have heard great things about the UWS, the quality of play and the opportunities created for the players," said Millan. "I'm excited to see what we can accomplish in the second season for So Cal Crush FC."

"We wanted to up our game," said So Cal Crush FC co-owner Reggie Rivas, who coached the team last season and will assist Millan in 2018. "We feel bringing Kurtis to coach with me will provide our players with the same environment they have come to know, while elevating our play and bring a different European perspective."

The first signing of the 2018 season is Northern Ireland international forward Lauren Wade. The Coleraine, Northern Ireland native has represented her country at the U-17, U-19 and senior levels, with 15 caps in both World Cup and European Qualifiers. She has competed at the highest level of women's soccer in Northern Ireland for Glentoran LFC, where she was the leading goal scorer in 2015. Wade was a two-time DII All-American at Carson-Newman University and helped lead the team to a regular season title, a Southeast Region Title and a trip to the NCAA Championship.

"It goes without saying how excited we are to have a player of Lauren’s caliber with us for the upcoming season, she has proven herself in very high-profile games," said Millan. "We are extremely excited to announce her arrival."

"Firstly, I would like to thank Carson-Newman for everything they have done for me," said Wade. "They have helped me grow not only as a player, but also a person, and helped me so much in two years. I am really looking forward to this new challenge ahead, and very grateful to be given this opportunity by So Cal Crush and their management team, and incredibly excited to get started on the journey ahead."
