Connecticut Fusion Fueled By Three Commitments

Cronin, Morrier & Socha sign for new UWS East side

FARMINGTON, CT - The Connecticut Fusion of United Women's Soccer (UWS) have announced the signing of three more players to their 2018 roster: defender Anna Cronin and midfielders Rachel Morrier & Molly Socha. Cronin and Socha are currently attending the University of Hartford - playing under Head Coach John Natale - while Morrier is a redshirt junior at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Cronin transferred to the University of Hartford from UConn after a redshirt season and with the Hawks, the Glastonbury, CT-native started in all 19 games in the 2017 season. Socha played in 19 games this past season, starting in 18, and was named the team's Most Valuable Player for 2017. Morrier started in all 16 games last fall at UMass Lowell, leading her team with 11 goals (24 points) on the season as the team's co-captain.

Along with previously announced signings of Sierra Stone and Haley Nolan, this brings a total of four current University of Hartford players to the Fusion roster, along with Chanel Johnson and Stephanie Santos who previously played for the Hawks.

"I'm excited about the level of talent we have right in our backyard and it's always beneficial to have a group of players who have played together joining our roster," said Fusion Head Coach Tom D'Agostino.

The Connecticut Fusion roster now stands at nine players with more signings to be announced over the next several days. The team will begins it's first year in UWS with the home opener on Friday, May 11th at 7:00 PM vs. the New England Mutiny at Farmington Sports Arena.
