GRFC Women Add Five Local Standouts

Defending UWS champions build 2018 roster with new talent

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Grand Rapids Football Club has signed five players - goalkeeper Maia Perez; defender Presley Tibbetts; midfielders Natalie Belsito and Tori Keller; and forward Bailey Korhorn - for the 2018 United Women's Soccer (UWS) season. Today's announcement brings the current roster up to 14 players for the defending UWS champions.

Perez (Kentwood, MI) recently completed her freshman season at Hartford University, earning a place on the America East All-Rookie Team after compiling an 8-9-2 record with a 1.35 goals-against-average, a 0.735 save percentage and three clean sheets in 19 starts with the Hawks. On Sept. 10, the 5-foot-10 netminder made a career-high 10 saves in a 2-0 victory over Siena College.

Tibbetts (Grandville, MI) spent four seasons with Saginaw Valley State University from 2012-15, recording four goals and 15 assists in 66 appearances for the Cardinals. As a senior in 2015, the 5-foot-5 defender was named to the All-GLIAC First Team and was an All-Midwest Region Second Team selection.

Belsito (Ada, MI) recently finished her freshman campaign at Central Michigan University, making 15 appearances for the Chippewas. The 5-foot-10 midfielder gained national headlines in March when she saved a squirrel on campus with CPR techniques used in an episode of NBC's The Office.

Keller (Grand Rapids, MI) played four years with the University of Indiana, notching two goals and six assists in 60 appearances with the Hoosiers. In addition to her on-field duties, Keller was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection from 2012-14.

Korhorn (Grand Rapids, MI) has returned to West Michigan and will represent Western Michigan University for the 2018 campaign. The 5-foot-5 forward began her collegiate career at the University of Cincinnati, where she made 14 appearances as a freshman in 2017.

GRFC opens the home portion of its schedule on Saturday, May 5 as the Ladies in Blue host the Midwest United U19 squad at 7 PM at Grandville High School. Single-game tickets are now on sale.
