Allen, Bennett & Williams Bring International Experience to WNY Roster

BUFFALO, NY - Western New York Flash head coach Matt Waddington and his staff has announced three key players to the roster with just weeks before the start of the 2018 United Women's Soccer (UWS) season. The additions of Georgia Allen, Taylor Bennett and Charlotte Williams will help push the organization towards their goal of competing for the UWS Playoffs.

"We couldn't be more excited about adding some key pieces to go along with our strong roster," said Waddington. "The addition of these three players will just add another dimension of experience and talent to an already explosive roster. We are three weeks away from our first games and are thrilled for the players to start coming into town so they can jump right into the intense training environment that has been created by our players."

Allen (Suffolk, England) stars at Syracuse University and will be competing for England's U-20 Women's National Team at the U-20 World Cup in August. Allen has also logged minutes for England's U-19 squad and served as the captain of England's U-17 team.

Bennett (Ithaca, NY) also plays for Syracuse University and has competed with the U-18 United States National Team. Taylor was named a First Team All-State Selection in four of her six years at Dryden High School.

Williams (Rochester, NY) was a Third Team All-B1G player for Penn State and has played for the U-23 United States Women's National Team. Charlotte was selected as a four-time All-State Class A honoree at Brighton High School.

"When you can add players that have competed at the highest level of soccer representing their National Teams, it is an impressive accomplishment and we can't wait to get started," said Waddington. "All three players will bring added levels of experience and leadership to this squad."

The Flash will kick off the 2018 UWS season on the road against the Long Island Rough Riders on Saturday, May 17. The team will play a game against the New York Surf on Sunday, May 18 before returning home for June 2nd's home opener against the Rough Riders at D'Youville College.
