El Paso ASA will play at Socorro Athletic Complex - an 11,000 seat stadium

EL PASO, TX - United Women's Soccer (UWS) is pleased to announce expansion in the state of Texas with the addition of El Paso ASA. The team will be owned and operated by Advanced Soccer Academy and David Lopez will serve as the first head coach of the club's inaugural season.

"The El Paso market has all the elements to become a gem in UWS," said UWS Commissioner Joe Ferrara, Jr. "An ownership group that understands our mission and standards, a passionate fan base and a hotbed for producing talented players will make El Paso ASA an instant hit."

"Our philosophy within the Academy is 'becoming is better than being,'" said General Manager Malissa Lopez. "We hold this philosophy high because we know that being the best can be temporary. We want our players to constantly be challenged and to compete at the highest level they aspire to achieve. Joining UWS allows us the opportunity to continue to 'Become' the best we can be for our athletes, families and our community."

As one of the most successful soccer academies in El Paso, ASA will look to change the local soccer culture by providing a platform for elite female players within and around the community. El Paso ASA will be designed to provide a pathway for players to the collegiate and professional levels. With the goal of delivering a full sports entertainment experience, the club will provide a team that the city will call its own.

El Paso ASA will play its UWS matches at Socorro Athletic Complex - an 11,000 seat state-of-the-art stadium located on the east side of El Paso.

"Soccer has been a cornerstone in El Paso for decades and the city is ready for more," said Lopez. "We are excited to have the opportunity to provide it to them."
