Connecticut adds experience & youth with latest roster additions

FARMINGTON, CT - The Connecticut Fusion have announced the addition of four new players to their roster this week. Defender Jewel Robinson, defender Liana Hinds, goalkeeper Meghan Dalton and defender Rachel Marchini are set to join the team for the 2018 inaugural season in the United Women's Soccer (UWS) East Conference.

"We're excited to sign Hinds, Dalton, Robinson and Marchini," said Head Coach Tom D'Agostino. "They bring diverse backgrounds in terms of playing experience. Younger and older players working together present excellent opportunities for growth as a team."

Robinson is a former team captain at Central Connecticut State University. The Farmington, CT-native seeks to bring senior playing experience to the back line. Dalton appeared in all 18 games in net for the Bryant Bulldogs during her freshman season this past fall. A native of West Hartford, CT, Dalton achieved accolades such as NEC Defensive Player of the Week and led the Bulldogs with 820 minutes in the regular season.

Hinds showcased several successful seasons for the University of Connecticut Huskies, both as a defender and forward. In her senior year, Liana played in all 23 games and helped UConn reach the third round of the NCAA Tournament. She also brings national team experience through her time playing with the Trinidad & Tobago Women's National Team.

Marchini signs as the first FSA FC homegrown player. The Waterford, CT-native and Montville High School graduate is now a freshman left back at UConn and played for FSA FC in the ECNL. Marchini is the first of what the team hopes will be many local players who have come through the ranks of FSA to reach the senior level with the Fusion.

The Fusion continues to prepare for the upcoming season ahead. The team will open at home (Farmington Sports Arena) May 11th against the New England Mutiny.
