DeLuca scores a hat trick in a wild contest, Gervase posts a strong weekend on the back line

Metuchen, NJ – The playoff races started to heat up across all four conferences during Week VII action of the 2018 UWS Season. The Western New York Flash earned a pair of road victories in the Bay State to vault into second place in the East while LA Galaxy OC Women not only earned two wins during Week VII play but also became the first team to defeat the Santa Clarita Blue Heat in West Conference regular season action in nearly two years.

Week VII produced a number of fantastic attacking performances and was highlighted by a brilliant effort from Detroit Sun FC's Rachel DeLuca, who netted a hat trick in a see-saw 4-4 draw against Lansing United, earning her the UWS Offensive Player of the Week award. While the goals flew in for Western New York this past weekend, Emma Gervase posted a fine weekend on the back line and helped guide her side to shut out the New England Mutiny on Sunday, giving her the UWS Defensive Player of the Week nod.
